About the Course
What is BAMS?
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is an integrative medical degree combining classical Ayurvedic concepts with modern medical sciences. Graduates register as "Dr." with state AYUSH councils and the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM).
The 5.5-year programme spans Sanskrit-based classical texts (Samhitas), anatomy, physiology, pharmacology of medicinal plants (Dravyaguna), Panchakarma, surgery (Shalya), and a year-long clinical internship.
Eligibility criteria
- Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English
- Minimum 50% aggregate in PCB (40% for SC/ST/OBC)
- Qualified NEET-UG in the same admission year
- Minimum 17 years of age as on 31st December of admission year
